Governor's Next Level Agenda Provides Historic Funding for Education, Lowers Infant Mortality, Supporst Veterans & More
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Republican Party Chairman Kyle Hupfer issued the following statement today following the conclusion of the 2019 legislative session:
“The 2019 legislative session was another banner year for Governor Eric Holcomb’s Next Level Agenda. Working together with Lt. Governor Suzanne Crouch, Speaker Brian Bosma, Senate President Rod Bray and members of the Republican-led House and Senate, Governor Holcomb and our Republican team made history on the top issues facing our state. Thanks to the governor’s leadership, this legislative session was marked by people-focused policies that will make a difference for Hoosier students, teachers, parents, children, workers, employers, veterans and taxpayers.
"With the passage of Indiana's eighth-consecutive balanced budget, the governor and legislators acted with fiscal responsibility, while at the same time passing historic increases in funding for education. Our schools will have more funds, and more money to boost teacher paychecks. That's while our leaders are making a difference toward lowering Indiana's infant mortality rate by focusing on at-risk mothers, and supporting those who have stood for us - our Hoosier veterans - by standing with them to phase in an elimination of state income taxation on military pensions.
"It's all about results, and there's no question that Republicans at the Statehouse delivered for Hoosiers this legislative session."
