Oct 28, 2015
INDIANAPOLIS (Oct. 27, 2015) - The Indiana Republican Party will be hosting their annual Fall Dinner tonight at 6:30 p.m. at the Ritz Charles in Carmel, Ind. Chairman Jeff Cardwell would like to welcome special guests South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, Indiana Gov. Mike Pence and Executive Director of for the Indianapolis Division of the Midwest Food Bank John Whitaker.

Due to the extreme flooding in South Carolina, many families and individuals are without the basic necessities of life. Midwest Food Bank and Vincennes based Helping His Hands are providing hope and relief. A team of first responders from Midwest and Helping His Hands have surveyed the damage and have connected with several local churches and emergency agencies in Colombia, SC. The Indiana Republican Party is hoping to spread awareness of this local organization and their efforts with Hoosiers. Whitaker will be leading the prayer before the dinner.

“I am very humbled to be asked to open this event in prayer and I am extremely excited to meet Gov. Haley”. said Whitaker. “It was Midwest’s privilege to be one of the first organizations to respond to the disaster in South Carolina.  Bringing relief and hope to the hurting and helpless in the name of Jesus Christ is the mission of our organization and we were glad to take over 120,000 lbs. of relief to many individuals directly impacted by this historic disaster."

Gov. Mike Pence will deliver brief remarks before Gov. Haley gives the keynote address.

“It is truly an honor to welcome South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley to the Hoosier State and to the Indiana Republican Party’s Fall Dinner." said Gov. Mike Pence. "During her time as governor, she has demonstrated incredible leadership in fighting for tax reform, ethics reform, and growing her state’s economy.  Republicans not only are coming together for tonight’s dinner, but also partnering with South Carolina to bring relief to families devastated by the recent flooding.  Please join me in extending the warm hand of Hoosier Hospitality to Governor Haley.

Indiana Republican Party Chairman Jeff Cardwell is also excited to welcome Gov. Haley to Indiana.

"We have been overwhelmed with the positive response to the Annual Fall Dinner," said Chairman Cardwell. "This response is just another example that the Indiana Republican Party is alive and well; gaining more momentum as we move into this next election cycle. Indiana Republicans are looking forward to what 2016 holds as we come together to restore the American Dream. Hoosiers are also coming together to show Gov. Haley the true meaning of Hoosier hospitality during this time of need, and we wish her a warm welcome to the great state of Indiana."
