Reality: Health Care Premiums Continue to Rise For Hoosiers Under Obamacare Plans
INDIANAPOLIS - Despite Democrat Joe Donnelly's claims in 2009 that Obamacare would make health care more affordable for Hoosiers, premiums on Obamacare health plans in Indiana have gone up 74 percent between just 2013 and 2017.
"Hoosiers deserve real health care solutions - and not more of Democrat Joe Donnelly's phony promises," said Kyle Hupfer, chairman of the Indiana Republican Party. "Democrat Joe Donnelly told Hoosiers directly in 2009 that he would only vote for a health care bill that lowered health care costs for Hoosiers, and now we know that Obamacare just isn't delivering on that promise. And even now that Democrat Donnelly knows the facts, he continues to double-down on his Obamacare support, much to the dismay of Hoosier pocketbooks."
Just yesterday, the Indianapolis Business Journal reported that Obamacare premiums from the only two insurers offering coverage through the health care exchange will rise an average of 5 percent in 2019.

But in practice, Hoosiers purchasing their insurance through the Obamacare exchange are seeing their insurance rates rise.

Just last weekend, Democrat Joe Donnelly admitted at the 2018 Indiana Democratic State Convention that he was the deciding vote against last year's attempted Obamacare repeal, which came down to just one vote.
"The facts are clear: Obamacare is expensive, and it's only going to keep going up in price," said Hupfer. "Yet, for some reason, Democrat Joe Donnelly votes to keep Obamacare as law every chance he gets. In order to repeal Obamacare, reduce health insurance premiums and implement real solutions, it's abundantly clear that Hoosiers need someone new voting for them in the U.S. Senate -- conservative outsider Mike Braun."
