Friends for Life, an anti-abortion rights group for students, plans to send 55 people and more than 1,000 petitions to Capitol Hill this week to urge Sen. Joe Donnelly, D-Ind., to co-sponsor legislation that would outlaw most abortions after 20 weeks of pregnancy.

Students and chaperones will ride a bus that departs for Washington at 9 p.m. Monday from the parking lot of Allen County Right to Life.

Friends for Life said in a news release it also will urge Democratic leaders of the Senate to allow a vote on the legislation.
