Donnelly Votes Against Historic Tax Cuts for Hoosiers
Democrat Donnelly Sides with Party Bosses in Opposing Job-Creating Tax Reform
INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana Republican Party State Chairman Kyle Hupfer released this statement following Democrat Joe Donnelly’s vote in the U.S. Senate today against final passage of the historic federal tax reform package:
“Hoosiers will benefit from historic tax cuts that were supported by every one of their federally-elected Republican representatives, but received a big no vote from Democrat Joe Donnelly.
“Democrat Joe Donnelly sided with his Washington party bosses – and against working Hoosiers – again on this historic, job-creating reform. Democrat Donnelly could have voted to cut taxes for Hoosiers and eliminate tax loopholes that just benefit the wealthy, but he voted no. Democrat Donnelly had the opportunity to level the playing field for Hoosier workers and companies to help them win in our global economy, but he voted no. Democrat Donnelly could have brought jobs back to America, but again he voted no.
"When a vote really matters to Hoosiers, Democrat Joe Donnelly continues to vote no. Next November, Hoosiers have an opportunity to vote for a new U.S. Senator who will vote yes on helping Hoosiers get ahead on big issues facing us all today. We will make sure that these no votes from Democrat Donnelly are remembered by Hoosiers as they cast their votes.”
