Major Donor to John Gregg Commits Violent Act, Gregg Should Donate Funds Immediately
Feb 18, 2016
Indiana Republican Party Executive Director David Buskill issued the following statement regarding the violence and intimidation tactics used by Iron Workers 395 to force laborers into a contract:
"Politician turned lobbyist turned perennial candidate for governor John Gregg received $65,500 in campaign contributions from Iron Workers Union Local 395. That’s the same group who assaulted construction workers building a Christian Academy at a church. It’s shameful, it’s criminal, and John Gregg should refuse their support. John Gregg needs to immediately denounce the union's act of violence towards Hoosier workers and donate the $65,500 he received to the Dyer Baptist Church. It’s appalling he hasn’t already done so."
An excerpt from the story is below:
"Williamson and 11 other men associated with Iron Workers Local 395 returned about 3 p.m. that day and began kicking and punching workers, according to the lawsuit. Some of the union workers were allegedly wearing steel-toe boots during the attack, and others were using wood to hit the workers.
"The members of Iron Workers 395 were yelling that the area was '395 territory' during the attack, the lawsuit alleges. One worker, Scott Kudingo, had to have his jaw wired shut because of the beating"
