Messer: Why I voted for spending bill

As your representative in Congress, it's my duty to tell you exactly where I stand on the issues. Often, we will agree. Other times, we won't. Either way, you will get an honest assessment.

In that spirit, it's time for some straight talk about my vote for the recent government funding bill nicknamed the "CRomnibus."

Despite its flaws, the bill moved our state and our country forward.
