The attorneys general of Indiana and Illinois are seeking to deter youth smoking through strict regulations on the marketing, advertising and use of flavors in electronic cigarettes.
Indiana Republican Greg Zoeller and Illinois Democrat Lisa Madigan joined their counterparts from 27 other states this month in asking the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to require e-cigarette companies meet advertising and marketing restrictions tobacco cigarette makers must comply with to ensure their ads do not target children and teenagers.
