Gov. Pence to recognize Southern Indiana advocates helping state's children in need

INDIANAPOLIS — The volunteers who advocate for Floyd and Clark County's neglected and abused children will get the chance to talk to state leaders next week in Indianapolis.

Roughly 300 court-appointed special advocates, or CASAs, from around the state are expected to attend CASA Day at the State House on Monday. Floyd and Washington County CASA Program Director Debbie Mefford said she's bringing along six of her volunteers to thank the people she said give the organization much needed support.
